Thanks! Yeah, I saw that Wikipedia topic. It seems to like Logitech items, but they don't seem to make CD/DVD players at this point. If need be I can hook up a laptop and play things through Winamp with the right connector.

can't help with DVD, but I have lots of Logitech Squeezebox players in my whole-house audio system and can't recommend them enough. High quality audio, plays FLAC natively, including 24/96 hi-rez files (24/192 with a free, easy to install plugin), gapless, etc. Good helpful user forum at: forums.slimdevices.com

Consider a Squeezebox TOUCH, connected to your stereo in the same way you'd connect a CD player.

Back to i-tunes. If you burn from that you can burn in audio format and not have any gaps (you can set in the Prefs). If you are stuck with a PC you can probably still do it with the PC version.

Can you burn FLAC in itunes? You need a converter, correct? I've just been using ArcSoft Total Media which doesn't seem to have an option for burning with or without gaps, but it doesn't have any gaps on Winamp, but does on VLC as I mentioned above.
